Jade Buddha Statue for Sale
HI everyone,
We had a visitor ask:
Hello,
My friend from China has a VERY expensive statue of The Buddha, valued at around $30,000. It is approximately 2' in height and is made of solid jade. He doesn't know that much about the internet and is asking me if I know of a way that it could be sold online (obviously the purchase would be done in person--just talking about online advertisement).
Since I have no idea whatsoever where to look I just found you on a search and figured that I would try to ask you since you sell such statues. Do you know where something like this could be advertised or sold? I'm sure you are busy but it never hurts to ask.
Kind Regards,
C.
Here is our response to them (but if you have any suggestions, be sure to let us know):
Hi there, C:
Thanks for the note.
If I were your friend, I would first advertise on craigslsit, because that is normally for shoppers who are interested in buying in person locally. I don't know where you live but there is probably a craiglsit for his area.
Also, he could try selling on e-bay and just make it clear that the buyer will have to buy in person. The only problem is that ebay might want to charge a percentage, while craigslist is free to advertise.
Maybe there are some auction houses near by that would allow you to advertise the item on their web sites for a small fee?
Some people who know a little bit about making web sites might create a web site specifically for your statue, with the contact information and photos of the statue. Then you could place ads on google for the statue through there adsense program.
And finally, I know some newspapers that do classified ads both in their papers and on their web sites, so you might try to find out how long the web site advertisements run for.
But first, I would probably try to take some nice pictures and post it on craiglist.
Good luck,
Ms. Jay, Siamese Dream
